Quality & Testing

How Every Batch Is Verified

HPLC and Mass Spectrometry, performed by an accredited independent laboratory, with the certificate published before the batch goes on sale.

The Principle

Nothing ships until purity and identity are confirmed

A peptide that is 87% of what the label says is not a cheaper version of the compound — it is a different experiment, and one whose variables you do not know. Impurity is not a pricing question. It is a data-integrity question, and it propagates silently into every result downstream.

That is why release testing at Alpha Wolf Labs is a gate rather than a formality. A batch is not listed, not priced and not sold until an independent laboratory has confirmed both what it is and how pure it is.

Release Process

From incoming batch to published certificate

01

Incoming Batch

A new batch is received and quarantined. It is not added to the catalog and cannot be ordered at this stage.

02

Independent Testing

A sample is sent to an accredited third-party laboratory for HPLC and Mass Spectrometry analysis — purity and identity, tested separately.

03

Review & Release

Results are reviewed against our release specification. A batch that does not meet it is not sold. Nothing is reworked into a lower grade.

04

COA Published

The certificate is published against the batch number and linked from the product page, so it can be checked before purchase.

The two tests, and what each one answers

HPLC — how pure is it?

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography separates the sample into its components and measures the proportion of each. It is what produces the purity percentage on the certificate, and it is what reveals a contaminant that a simpler test would miss.

Mass Spectrometry — is it the right compound?

Mass Spectrometry measures molecular mass, confirming the material is the peptide it is labelled as. Purity alone does not establish identity — a sample can be 99% pure and be 99% of the wrong thing.

Why both, every batch

Purity without identity, or identity without purity, is half an answer. Running both on every batch is the only way the certificate means what a researcher needs it to mean.

Independent, not in-house

Testing is performed by an accredited laboratory with no commercial interest in the result. A supplier grading its own homework is not verification.

Reading the Certificate

What is on a Certificate of Analysis

Every COA we publish is tied to a specific batch number — not to the product in general. If you reorder later and the batch has changed, the certificate changes with it. That is the point: it documents the material actually in your vial.

On every certificate

Batch Number

Matches the number printed on your vial label.

Purity Result

The measured HPLC purity for that batch.

Identity Confirmation

Mass Spectrometry confirmation of the compound.

Test Date & Method

When it was tested and by what method.

Release specification

We release material at 99%+ purity as confirmed by third-party HPLC. The exact measured figure for the batch you receive is stated on its Certificate of Analysis.

Every batch is released against a written specification: identity confirmed by mass spectrometry against the expected molecular weight, purity determined by HPLC, and appearance and solubility checked on receipt. The measured purity figure for your batch is printed on its certificate rather than summarised here, because it is the batch figure that matters, not an average. A batch that fails identity confirmation is not released and is not sold. A batch whose purity falls below the figure stated on its certificate is withdrawn, and anyone who has already received it is contacted, refunded or replaced.

The testing laboratory

Batch testing is carried out by Janoshik Analytical, an independent third-party laboratory. We publish the report they issue for each batch so you can read the result yourself. We do not claim an accreditation for the laboratory here; if you need its accreditation status for your own records, ask us and we will put you in touch.

This is the single most load-bearing unverified claim on the site. Everything else here follows from it.

Sample retention and re-testing

A retention sample is held for every batch we release and is kept for twelve months after that batch has sold out, so a certificate can be checked against physical material if a question is ever raised. Stock held for longer than twelve months is re-tested before it is offered again, or withdrawn.

Storage and handling before dispatch

Products are held lyophilized and sealed under controlled conditions until dispatch, then packed to protect stability in transit as described in our Shipping Policy.

Material is held lyophilized and sealed, away from light, at controlled room temperature, and is packed for dispatch in a way that protects stability in transit. Storage after delivery is the responsibility of the receiving researcher, and the conditions for each compound are stated on its product page.
